ELIH Foundation Board of Directors Appoints New Associate Director

Eastern Long Island Hospital is proud to announce the appointment of Alison M. Byers, Psy.D to the Board of Directors of the ELIH Foundation as an Associate Director. Dr. Byers is a long-time friend of ELIH. Spending time at her Cutchogue home on the North Fork of Long Island has given Dr. Byers the opportunity to become familiar with ELIH and our mission.

Dr. Byers is a Board Member of the Richard King Mellon and Richard King Mellon Family Foundations, as well as an adherent of the President’s Advisory Council for The Student Conservation Fund. She is also Co-Founder and a Board Member of the Russell Byers Charter School, a charter school named in honor of Dr. Byers’ late father. The school emphasizes Russell Byers’ belief in fostering academic excellence, civic responsibility, and community service.

Currently, Dr. Byers is the Vice President of Psychological and Assessment Services at Diversified Search, one of the largest executive search firms in the nation. She’s gained extensive experience as a Clinical Psychologist with various organizations such as the Adolescent Trauma Treatment Development Center, the Police-Mental Health Project, and the Psychological Services Center at Long Island University.

Dr. Byers also trained as a chef in Paris and currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
