Eastern Long Island Hospital is pleased to honor Patricia and Donald Brennan at the 25th Anniversary ELIH Golf Classic at Gardiner’s Bay Country Club, Shelter Island on Flag Day, Wednesday, June 14, 2017.
Participation in the 2017 Golf Classic directly supports the Emergency Department at ELIH, and its mission to provide essential healthcare services to the communities of the North Fork and Shelter Island.
During the 25th Anniversary golf tournament, Eastern Long Island Hospital will recognize Patricia and Donald, and celebrate their dedication to the hospital and the North Fork community. Both Patricia and Donald have been major supporters of the growth and expansion that ELIH has experienced over the past 18 years. The Brennans’ hosted the very first Gala for ELIH in 1999. Patricia has been on the Gala committee for several years since. Their personal involvement in the Gala each year, first as hosts, and then as Champion Sponsors has helped ELIH raise much needed funds for the Emergency Department.
Patricia has been a summer resident of Southold Town since 1945 and four generations of her family have been treated at ELIH. Patricia is a Registered Nurse from St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing in Manhattan. “I feel blessed to have such a wonderful community hospital, staffed by dedicated professionals available to me and my family,” states Patricia. “ELIH has been a lifesaver for Donald and I as well as many of our children and grandchildren.”
Donald, being a city dweller, was introduced to the North Fork by Pat well over 50 years ago and like everyone else fell in love with it. Donald is a retired Chairman of Morgan Stanley Capital Partners and is currently an advisory director to the Board of Morgan Stanley. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 1982, he was Vice Chairman of International Paper Company. He has also been a Chairman and Director of numerous private and public corporations.
Donald was Chairman of the Board of the Trustees of the Maritime College and Vice Chairman of St. Vincent’s Hospital of New York. He is a former Intelligence Officer in the US Navy with the rank of Commander and a past member of the Board of Directors of the United States Naval Institute.
The Brennans’ invite everyone to join them at the Golf Classic on Shelter Island as a golfer or a sponsor. Guests may also participate as a cocktail sponsor which includes dinner reservations and the recognition ceremony.
Gardiner’s Bay Country Club is a beautiful par 70 private golf course, with scenic water views. Highlights of the day include 18 holes of golf with tournament prizes, barbeque lunch, refreshments on the course, cocktail hour, dinner and awards ceremony. Due to popular demand, the golf classic will be played in a “shamble” format. The “shamble” format is designed to move the game along, allowing all foursomes to finish and compete for prizes. Hole-in-one prizes will be provided by Strong’s Marine and Mullen Motors.
The title sponsor of the Golf Classic is Bridgehampton National Bank. Sponsorship opportunities offer signage on the course, media recognition, pre and post event advertising and cocktail reception tickets.
