The function of the Staff Pharmacist is to distribute and control all pharmaceuticals used by the facility and to provide information about drugs to the institution’s staff and patients. This function includes a program of Quality Improvement designed to monitor and assure the quality of drug use.
Hospital experience mandatory.
BS degree in Pharmacy. New York State Pharmacist License. Professional affiliation(s) preferred.
Adequate ability to verbally communicate. Adequate vision. Adequate hearing. Able to use short ladder. Able to lift 30 pounds off the floor onto a countertop. Adequate mobility to retrieve stock and transport medication carts. Adequate manual dexterity to compound and dispense prescriptions, including IV admixtures and other sterile products.
